Mining & Coal Handling

Streat Automation has completed major Mining & Coal Handling projects for Solid Energy, Macraes and the Lyttelton Port Company.

Lyttelton Port: Fast Coal handling system, consisting of a Train Unloader, Stacker, Reclaimer and Shiploader. The system is based on distributed Rockwell ControlLogix PLC’s & FlexIO with dual RSView32 HMI servers and ADS clients. RSSQL links the data to an SQL database that is used to provide reports. Other unique features of this project include:

• Automated train unloading and coal stacking,
• Automated coal reclaiming and online blending,
• Ship Loading via automated schedule to maintain ship stability,
• Communications between the moving equipment via radio Ethernet.
• Stacker & Reclaimer collision avoidance system using SICK LMS laser sensors and dedicated anti-collision software.

Solid Energy Rocky Creek: Underground coal de-watering and transportation system.

Macraes Gold Mine: Control system for the gold recovery pressure oxidation plant.
